Can you believe it's May?
On May 30, the Groundwater Foundation is once again participating in Give to Lincoln Day, which promotes philanthropy in our hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Any gifts given to the Groundwater Foundation between now and May 30 through this link help us earn a portion of a $450,000 match fund from the Lincoln Community Foundation and its sponsors.
We're proud to be part of our city, and proud of the work we do locally. We work with teachers, students, and various parts of our community to foster groundwater education and protection efforts.
Please remember groundwater on Give to Lincoln Day, and make your gift to help more people understand groundwater - the water Lincoln drinks - and take action to protect it.

Our Hometown's Generosity
by Jennifer Wemhoff, The Groundwater Foundation
Tomorrow, Thursday, May 26, is a big day in The Groundwater Foundation's hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. It's Give to Lincoln Day, and for 24 hours, every donation given to local nonprofits, including The Groundwater Foundation, is made bigger by matching funds. It is one special day when everyone in Lincoln is asked to make a donation showing their support for the organizations that contribute so much to our great city. Every donation given makes a bigger impact because nonprofits also get a proportional share of a $300,000 challenge match fund provided by Lincoln Community Foundation and their sponsors. Donor drawings will also occur hourly on May 26 - an online donor will be selected at random and $300 will be added to their nonprofit gift.
Lincoln is our home. It always has been. We're connected to our community. When faucets turn on in Lincoln, it's groundwater that comes out. Groundwater is the water we drink and the water that grows our food, and it's up to all of us to protect this precious resource.
Please consider making a gift to The Groundwater Foundation on Give to Lincoln Day and help people understand the importance of the water that nourishes our lives and communities - groundwater. For over 30 years, The Groundwater Foundation has empowered youth, adults, and communities to act locally and have a global impact.
You don't have to live in Lincoln to be part of this special day of giving! Use the online donation platform to give to The Groundwater Foundation as part of Give to Lincoln Day from anywhere.

What's Happening at the GF
There's a lot happening at The Groundwater Foundation in the next few months. Here's a rundown on what's going on and how you can be involved!
- #GivingTuesday - After the retail craziness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Tuesday, December 3 is your chance to give back. The Groundwater Foundation's goal is to raise $10,000 for our Groundwater Restoration through Education project. The project will serve underprivileged youth at Title I schools, and provide education about groundwater, sources of pollution, and the importance of pollution prevention. Youth will also be empowered by this knowledge to make a difference in their community through protecting and restoring groundwater. YOU can help make this happen!

- Groundwater Foundation membership - Have a hard to buy for water enthusiast on your shopping list this holiday season? A Groundwater Foundation membership makes a great gift. Membership dollars help take a step toward the protection, conservation, and management of our precious groundwater resources. It's also a perfect time to renew your Foundation membership - it only takes a few minutes and makes a big difference. Renew (or join!) today!
- Join the "move"ment! - The Groundwater Foundation is moving! In order to better serve our constituents and community and increase visibility, the Foundation is bidding adieu to its current office and moving into new digs in 2014, and we could use your help in getting this "move"ment up and going. Visit our website at www.groundwater.org/move.html to find out more about our big move, and how you can help!
- Wild and Scenic Film Festival a success! - On Wednesday, November 20 the Foundation teamed up with Threads Footloose and Fancy for a night of water awareness. It started out with nearly 150 people viewing a series ofwater-related documentaries at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. The night concluded with networking, food and drinks at Marz Bar, along with the drawing for fabulous raffle prizes. Thanks to all who made this such a fun and successful event, and a special thanks to Threads Footloose and Fancy and Patagonia, and sponsors Clif, Patagonia, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Mother Jones, Lied Lodge and Conference Center, and Black Hills Energy.
These are just a few of the happenings at The Groundwater Foundation, along with our other groundwater education and protection programs and projects. Find out how you can get involved in what we do at www.groundwater.org.
